My twin and I were born in Yorkshire due to the London air raids.

We grew up on Canvey Island, Essex.

I trained in graphic design at Southend School of Art.

In the mid sixties I lived and worked in Canada employed by the Canadian Govt to work on the exterior of their touring exhibition train and caravans to celebrate their centennial, being responsible for the exterior graphics of the Confederation Train.

I also won an award for a Canadian exhibit in New York and on my return to England I had a successful career as a freelance international exhibition designer with a wide range of clients.

​

Retired early moving from Teddington to Newick to pursue a life as an artist working in pastel.

​

A Fellow of the Chartered Society of Designers, Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, an active member of The Pastel Society and for sixteen years a volunteer drawing with people with acquired brain injury at Headway South East in Newick.

I also run a Tuesday drawing group from home.

Work shown ranges over the last ten years visiting places, churches and enjoying the seasons.

My paintings are created by making a mask, removing panels to work the pastel through to form controlled areas of colour.
